I almost forgot…Here’s today’s rune! (My guidestone ^.^)
9. Hagalaz
Hagalaz is intended to represent a hailstone falling from the sky, but I think it’s easier to just look at it as a letter H, which begins the words Hagalaz and hail alike. Hail both in nature and symbolically can be seen as a transformational power. When it comes plummeting down from the sky, it has the ability to destroy life and manmade objects alike; as it melts it becomes the water that nurtures us.
In a reading, Hagalaz gives the opportunity to use a potentially destructive force to a beneficial end. The consequences of karma are present, whether good or bad. Hagalaz signifies a period of needed transformation; its appearance also pushes people to take new risks, as they are seen as favorable.
Occluded, this hailstone can mean bad weather, literally or figuratively. Your own powers are limited and you may feel as though outside forces are controlling or restraining you. Contrary to the first meaning, seeing Hagalaz face down would mean it is a bad time to take risks; be cautious instead. Your life in general may be disrupted at this time by something you cannot easily change.
